2002 Worthington Cup Winners - Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Blackburn won the Worthington Cup for the first time in their history with a 2-1 over Tottenham at the Millennium Stadium. Andy Cole was the hero when his second-half strike separated the teams and won Blackburn their first cup trophy in over 70 years. Matt Jansen had earlier put Rovers ahead in the 25th minute when his shot went through Neil Sullivan's legs. However, the lead was short lived as a few minutes later Christian Ziege scored an equaliser. Both keepers made a string of fine saves before Cole's 69th minute strike sealed an entertaining final.
